Abstract:
Six alkaloids have been isolated from the Chinese drugs,
Aconitum carmichaeli Debx., Chuan-wu. Four of them were identified as hypaconitine, aconitine, mesaconitine, and talatisamine respectively by comparing their physical and chemical properties with those of the authentic samples. It seems that the other two alkaloids are new com- pounds; they are provisionally named Chuan-wu base A and Chuan-wu base B. The Chuan-wu base A, C
23H
37O
6N, m.p. 111℃,
αD22 = 0° (CHCl
3), was found to be a tertiary base with two hydroxy, two methoxy, and one N-ethyl groups. The Chuan-wu base B has the formula C
32H
35O
4N, m.p. 185℃,
αD22 =0° (CHCl
3).
