Abstract: Six crystalline compounds were isolated from Senecio scandens Buch.-Ham. Five of them were identified as hydroquinone (Ⅰ), p-hydroxyphenyl acetic acid (Ⅱ), vanillic acid (Ⅲ)、salicylic acid (Ⅴ) and pyromucic acid (Ⅵ) respectively. The crystalline compound, Ⅳ was isolated in small quantities with mp 224～225℃ (decomp.)and molecular formula C₁₄ H₁₀ O₅.
