Abstract: The author made a survey of the literature and work done in recent years in our and foreign countries on the search of chemotherapeutic agents for the treatment of experimental infection of Schistosoma in animals. In this paper, the author summerises these agents under the following headings: 1. The organic tri-valent antimony compounds: the derivatives of tartaric acid, polyhydroxy-acids, dimercapto-alcohols, dimercapto-dibasic acids, thioalcohols and thiophenols. 2. The organic penta-valent antimony compounds: the derivatives of benzenesulfonamides and polyhydroxy-acids. 3. The organic arsenic, mercury and tin compounds. 4. The homologes of "Miracil" series: the derivatives of xanthones and thioxanthones. 5. The analogues of "Miracil" series; the derivatives of acridines, anthraquinones, chromanones and thiochromanones. 6. The quinoline derivatives. 7. The piperazine derivatives. 8. The derivatives of 4,4'-diamino-diphenoxy-alkanes. 9. The Chinese drugs.
