Abstract:
Lilium brownii F.E.Brown var.
viridulum Baker is a well-known and very important traditional Chinese medicine. It has been used as sedative, antitussive, anti-inflammatory or as a nutrient. Five compounds were isolated from the bulbs of Lilium brownii. On the basis of spectroscopic analysis (IR, FABMS,
1HNMR,
13CNMR, DEPT, HMQC, HMBC) and their physicochemical properties, they were identified as β-sitosterol (I), daucosterol (II),
n-butyl-β-
D-fructopyranoside (III), 26-
O-β-
D-glucopyranosyl-3β,26-dihydroxy-5-cholesten-16,22-dioxo-3-
O-α-
L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→2)-β-
D-glucopyranoside (IV), 26-
O-β-
D-glucopyranosyl-3β,26-dihydroxy cholestan-16,22-dioxo-3-
O-α-
L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→2)-β-
D-glucopyranoside(V). Among them, I, II and III were isolated from this plant for the first time, IV and V are new compounds.
