Abstract: Eight compounds were isolated from the tuber of Ranunculus ternatus Thunb..Six of them were identified bychemical and spectrcopic analysis as myristic acid octadecyl ester(I) ,eicosanoic acid(II ),stigmasterol(III),β-sitosterol(IV),γ-keto-δ-valerolactone (VI ) and a mixture of D-glucopyranoside of stigmasterol andβ-sitosterol ( VIII). VI is a new compound, named ternatolide, IV and VIII were found from this plant for the first time.
