Abstract:
Silica gel G thin layer chromatography for separation and idenfication of rhein, aloe-emodin, emodin, physcion and chrysophanol as well as sennosides and rhaponticin using 4 different solvent systems, is reported. The method for the extraction of sample has been improved successfully and the determination of the above mentioned five anthraquinone derivatives by means of Dual Wavelength TLG Scanner is described. The procedure is simple and rapid, the results are stable and reproducible. The present paper provides a qualitative and quantitative method for quality control and systematic research of Rhubarb plants.
