Abstract:
After conversion of the hydrolyzcd polysaccharidcs SB-Ⅰ, SB-Ⅱ from Shiraia Bambusicola into trimethylsilyl and alditol acetate derivatives the components of these polysaccharidcs were identified by GC and GC-MS. SB-Ⅰ is composed of L-arabinose, D-galactosc and D-glucose. SB-Ⅱ is composed of the same three sugars and an additional D-mannose. The molar ratios of these sugars were also determined. The column, packed with 5% OV-225 on Aw-DMCS-Chromosorb W(80/100 mesh), is used satisfactorily for separating and identifying alditol acetate derivatives of the seven sugars (L-arabinose, D-galactose, D-glucose, D-mannose, D-ribose, L-rhamnose).
