Abstract: The oral Yunnan snaketite drug, a compositus of several herbs, can be regarded as a new and effective therapeutic medicine for venomous snakebite. Our experiments indicate that if Yunnan snakebite drug is given to mouse prior to the injection of lethal dose Naja naja or Agki-strodon halys venom, more experimental mice survive than the controls (p<0.001). The acute and subacute toxiciies of the drug were found to be low.
