Abstract:
F30066, N-(isopropyl)-β-(5-nitro-2-furyl)-acrylamide, is a new oral drug for Schis- tosomiasis japonica. The present work studied the effect of F30066 on the liver and kidney functions of uninfected and infected rabbits six weeks after the cercarial infection of
Schistosoma japonicum. The experimental results indicate that the drug causes some damages to the liver and the kidney, but the damages are reversible. The authors also observed the normal-value distributions of several useful tests for liver and kidney func- tions in about 200 animal-times of rabbits.
