Abstract:
AIM To study the effect of triterpenoids isolated from
Ganoderma lucidum(Leyss. ex Fr.) Karst on three models of experimental liver injury in mice. METHODS The experimental models of liver injury were induced by carbon tetrachloride(CCl
4),
D-galactosamine(
D-Gal) and
Bacillus Calmette-Guerin(BCG) plus lipopolysaccharides(LPS) in mice. The serum ALT and liver TG were measured by colorimetric and Fletcher methods. The histopathologic change of the liver was assayed in mice. RESULTS GT(80 mg.kg
-1) and GT
2(10,20,40 mg.kg
-1), as malotilate, were shown to significantly inhibit the increase of serum ALT and liver triglyceride levels induced by CCl
4, D-Gal or BCG plus LPS and improve the histopathologic change of liver injury in different degrees. CONCLUSION The triterpenoids isolated from
Ganoderma lucidum(Leyss. ex Fr.) Karst showed powerful protective effect against liver damage induced by CCl
4,
D-gal and BCG plus LPS.
