Abstract:
In view of some specific feature of the chemical structure of Schizandrins, which showed significant effect in lowering the serum glutamic pyruvic transaminase (SGPT) level of paitents suffering from chronic virus hepatitis, we report in this article the syntheses of the following series of compounds, namely, the substituted aromatic derivatives of 2,2-bis-methoxyl-carbonyl-biphenyl and 7,8-dibenzo-cyclo-1,3-octadiene. The synthetic compounds have been tested on experimental abnormally high SGPT level in animals induced by carbon tetrachloride. Preliminary result showed that compounds Ⅺ
e and Ⅺ
f possessed much stronger inhibitory action. Further pharmacological studies of these compounds are in progress.
