Abstract:
A countercurrent distribution apparatus is described. It is more compact than the apparatus of Craig and Post. It can take a large number of tubes with greater capacity in the extraction train, and permits close mounting in compact racks.
A 100-tube extraction train of 100 ml capacity (50 ml upper and 50 ml lower phases) per tube occupies a space of 28×55×40 cm. The tube shown in figure 1 (1), (2) is made from 2.8×55 cm glass tubing. "

B"is an equilibration cell, approximately 200 ml in volume, the length of the lower part of the cell is adjusted to 50 ml in volume at the time of construction. All the tubes in the apparatus are joined together through "
