Abstract: This paper describes the production of an experimental allergic encephalomyelitis in the guinea pig. The experimental animals Were given intradermally the rabbit spinal cord emuision-complete Freund adjuvent into the pads of both hind feet. 60～80% of the guinea pigs developed paralysis of both hind legs after an incubation period of 14～21 days. Whenthe experimental animals Were injected intramuscularly a preparation extracted with alcohol from the hot Water infusion of Yu-Jin, both the incidence and the morbidity of the allergic encephalomyelitis of the guinea pigs decreased by about one half.
