Abstract:
The action of tartar emetic on n-butyl gallate gave n-butyl antimonyl gallate, while the action of antimonous acid on potassium 1,2-dihydroxy-benzene-3,5-disulfonate gave potassium antimonyl-bis-1,2-dihydroxy-benzene-3,5-disulfonate. The interaction of potassium 1,2,3-trihydroxy-benzene-4,5 (or 4,6)-disulfonate and antimonous acid gave either potassium 1,2-antimonyl-1,2,3-trihydroxy-benzene-4,5 (or 4,6)-disulfonate or potassium antimonyl-bis-1,2,3-trihydroxy-benzene-4,5(or 4,6)-disulfonate, depending upon the concentration of the solution.
