Abstract:
AIM: To investigate the effects of fleroxacin combined with urokinase or earthworm kinase on the bacterial biofilm (BBF) of
Ps.aeruginosa defined. METHODS: MIC(minimal inhibitory concentration) was determined by use of microdilution method, bacterial biofilm was defined by a rapid stainning procedure of AgNO 3, the morphology of biofilm was observed by scanning electron microscopy, viable bacteria were counted by MTT method. RESULTS: The photography of SEM(scanning electron microscopy) showed that the morphology of biofilm bacteria treated with FLRX(fleroxacin) combined with UK(urokinase) or EK(earthworm kinase) was markly changed and the counts of viable bacteria in the BBF(bacterial biofilm) treated with FLRX plus UK or EK were significantly decreased than with FLRX alone. CONCLUSION: The effects on the BBF treated with FLRX plus UK or EK were synergistic.
