Abstract:
In the present communication, eleven (2-hydroxy-3-aminopropoxy)-flavones (Ⅰ) were synthesized as potential
β-adrenergic blocking agents. These compounds were obtained by reacting the hydroxy-flavones with epichlorohydrin in the presence of a few drops of piperidine, followed by amination of the resulting chlorhydrin derivatives (Ⅲ) with appropriate amines. Preliminary pharmacological test showed thai compounds Ia, Ib, Ic, Ih, and Ii prolonged the survival time under hypoxia condition in mice, but under the same experimental conditions no significant antagonism to isoprenaline was observed.
