EFFECT OF SEMEN ZIZYPHI AND FRUCTUS SCHIZANDRAE ON EXPERIMENTAL BURN
-
Abstract
The burns on mice and rats were produced by hot water and coagulated gasoline, respectively. The extracts of Semen Zizyphi and Fructus Schizandrae were found to cause an elevation in the survival rate and a prolongation in the survival time of mice. The combined use of Semen Zizyphi and Fructus Schizandrae delayed the development of shock, lengthened the survival time in rats and alleviated local oedema in mice. Sodium bromide (0.5—1.0g/kg) with caffeine (2—25 mg/kg) had a definite therapeutic effect on both mice and rats. Morphine (25 mg/kg) showed a remarkable alleviatire effect on the development of oedema.
