STRUCTURE DETERMINATION OF SAPONIN Ⅸ AND Ⅹ FROM DIPSACUS ASPER WALL

Two new triterpenoid glycosides (Ⅸ and Ⅹ) were isolated from the ethanol extracts of the roots of Dipsacus asper Wall. Their structures were deduced as 3-O-β-D-xylopyranosyl(1→4)-β-D-glucopyranosyl (1→4) a-L-rhanmopyranosyl (1→3)-β-D-glucopyranosyl (1→3) -α-L-rhamnopyranosyl(1→)-α-arabinopyranosyl-hederagenin (Ⅸ) and 28-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl(1→6)-β-D-glucopyranosyl ester of Ⅸ (Ⅹ), based on spectral and chemical analysis.
