DETERMINATION OF AVICULARIN IN POLYGONUM AVICULARE L.

    Abstract
  • An analytical method for the determination of avicularin in Polygonum aviculate L. is described. After solvent extraction of the crude drUg, avicularin is separated by thin-layer chromatography and determined by coulometry or spectrophotometry.The method has fairly good reproducibility, ten determinations of avicularin in crude drug gave a result of 0.199% with a coefficient of variation of 2%.
