FLUOROMETRIC METHOD FOR DETERMINATION OF NITRIC OXIDE AND NITRIC OXIDE SYNTHETASE IN RAT BRAIN

  • A simple, sensitive fluorometric method for the determination of nitric oxide and nitric oxide synthetase in rat brain homogenates has been developed. The method is based on the absorption of a reaction product of N-acetylcysteine and nitric oxide overlapping the absorption of quinine sulfate. The lowest concentration that can be determined is 3×10-8 mol·L-1.
