Abstract
A series of 7-or 5,8-substituted 4-quinolone-2-carboxylic acid was synthesized and tested in rats for passive cutaneous anaphylaxis (PCA) assay as potential antiallergic agents. 7-Oxaloxy-4-quinolone-2-carboxylic acid (24) and 5-amino-4-quinolone-2-carboxylic acid (18) were shown to give 98.5% and 93.3% protection, respectively.
