Abstract

The literature on the sources,physical and chemical properties,pharmaco- logical actions,methods of detection,quantitative assay,and avoidence of bacterial pyrogens are reviewed.The factors influencing methods for the detection of py- rogens adopted in pharmacopoeia are discussed.
