STUDIES ON THE CHEMICAL CONSTITUENTS OF XANTHOCERAS SORBIFOLIA BUNGE
-
Abstract
AIM: To study the chemical constituents of the stems of Xanthoceras sorbifolia Bunge. METHODS: The chemical constituents were isolated by polyamide column chromatography and gel column chromatography, and the chemical structures were elucidated by IR, UV, 1HNMR, 13CNMR, MS and 2DNMR. RESULTS: Seven compounds have been isolated from the n-butanol extract, and one compound from the H2O extract of this plant. They have been identified as (-)-epicatechin (I), 2α,3β-dihydromyricetin (II), myricetin (III), 2α,3β-dihydroquercetin (IV), quercetin (V), esculetin (VI), xanthocerin (VII) and 2,5-dimethoxy-p-benzoquinone (VIII). CONCLUSION: Compound VII is a new compound. Compounds VI and VIII are isolated from the genus for the first time.
