STUDIES ON THE CHEMICAL CONSTITUENTS OF ZANTHOXYLUM PLANISPINUM SIEB. ET ZUCC.

Three crystalline components were isolated from the petroleum ether extract of Zanthoxylum planispinum Sieb. et Zucc. A new bisepoxylignan Lplaninin (Ⅲ) was isolated together with two known compounds β-amyrin(Ⅰ) and L-asarinin(Ⅱ). The configuration of (Ⅲ) was established as the (1R, 2R, 5R, 6S)-2-(3′,4′-dimethoxy-phenyl)-6-(3″,4″-methylene dioxyphenyl) -3, 7-dioxabicyclo (3, 3, 0) octane through interpretation of the spectral data (IR, NMR, MS) and the results of an X-ray crystal analysis, β-Amyrin (Ⅰ) and L-asarinin (Ⅱ) were isolated for the first time from this plant.
