STUDY ON THE QUALITY CONTROL OF DAQINGYES (FOLIUM STROBILANTHES)，BANLANGEN (RADIXSTROBILANTHES)AND THE1R PREPARATIONS

This paper suggests that the antiviral active constituent 4(3H)-quinazolinone maybe used as a quality control standard for the Chinese herbal drugs Daqingye(Folium strobilanthes)and Banlangen(Radix strobilanthes) as well as its preparations.4(3H)- quinazolinone was found for thefirst time from the above mentioned Chinese herbal drugs. Pharmacoiogical tests demonstrated that ithas antiviral and immuno regulating activities.This provides a reliable basis for the quality control ofDaqingye,Balangen and its preparations.Its con tentis determined by HPLC. The method showedgood linearity(r=0.9998,n= 5 ) in the range of 0.25～50μg/ml of 4(3H)-quinazolinone.Theaverage recovery was about 96～98%with RSD<1.69%(n=3).HPLC conditions:column : LiChrosorb RP 1 8(10μm);mobile phase:methanol一water(40:60);detection wavelength;230 nm。
