PHARMACOGNOSTICAL EXAMINATION OF COMMERCIAL MU-TUNG

Morphological and histological comparisons were made of the commercial Mu-tung(stems of Aristolochia manshuriensis Komarov) and the stems of the genuine Mu-tung plant(Akebia quinata Decne). Although the morphological aspects of the two Mu-tungs are rather similar, histological differences are very distinct. Details of these differences are described together with 3 illustrations.
