HPLC SEPARATION AND DETERMINATION OF ACTIVE CONSTITUENTS IN CHIN PIE (FRAXINUS CHINENSIS)
-
Abstract
In this paper the chromatographic behaviors of esculin, syringin, fraxin and esculetin using reversed phase high performance liquid chromatography have been studied. These compounds in ethanolic extract of Chin Pie can be well separated on an ODS column (25cm×5mm) with methanol-water-acetic acid (31:69:0.4) as eluant, UV-254 nm detector was used. Linear working curves prepared from peak areas vs. weights of the standards were obtained for the four mentioned constituents. The proposed method is simple; rapid and more sensitive than the TLCdensitometric method. The coefficient of variation was 2.4%, The analytical results were in good agreement.
