SYNTHESIS OF N-(4-SUBSTITUTED AMINO-4-OXOBUTYRYL)-N-SUBSTITUTED GLYCINES

Nine N-(4-substituted amino-4-oxobutyryl) N-substituted glycines expected tohave inhibitory activity on angiotensin-converting enzyme were synthesized. All of the title com-pounds and their t-butyl esters were unreported in the literature. In preliminary test in rats, com-pounds V₂,V₆ and V₇ showed marked hypotensive activity.
