EXPERIMENTS ON SUSPENSION CULTURE OF GINSENG CALLUS, A PRELIMINARY REPORT
-
Abstract
Ginseng callus was suspension cultured in 67-V and SH media, in 500, 2000, and 5000 ml flasks and was subcultured for 6 transfers. The results of these experiments showed that the growth rates (0.337~0.580g/1/day) and the dry weights (10.0~16.8g/1) of ginseng callus cultures were higher than they were on solid medium. The saponin contents (3.51~6.25%)of dry masses of these suspension cultures were not lower than those cultured on solid medium.
