    Abstract
  • A new pentacyclic triterpenoid saponin, lucyoside R, has been isolated from the leaves of Luffa cylindrica along with lucyoside G. Its stucture was established as 2α,21β-dihydroxyhederagenin-3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside based on spectral and chemical evidence.
