APPICATION OF NEW TECHNIQUES OF NMR IN THE STRUCTURE ELUCIDATION OF JAPONDIPSAPONIN E1 ISOLATED FROM DIPSACUS JAPONICUS Miq.

  • A new triterpenoid saponin, named japondipsaponin E1 (5 sugars), was isolated from the ethanolic extract of the roots of Dipsacus japonicus Miq. The structure was elucidated by chemical and spectral methods. e. g. 1HNMR, 13CNMR, 1H-1H COSY, selective long range DEPT and NOEDS, to be 3-O-α-L-rhamnopyranosyl(l→3)-β-D-glucopyranosyl (l→3)-α-L-rhamnopyranosyl(1→2)-α-L-arabinopyranosyl-hederagenin 28-O-β-D-glucopyranoside.
