POLAROGRAPHIC DETERMINATION OF CARBAMAZEPINE IN THE PRESENCE OF SODIUM LAURYL SULFATE
-
Abstract
The electrochemical characteristics of carbamazepine (CBZ) have been studied. In a solution containing 0.40 mol · L-1 NaOH, 0. 15 mol · L-1 KNO3 and 0. 0020% sodium lauryl sulfate(SLS) CBZ gives a sensitive polarographic wave which can be used to determine trace amounts of the drug, the detection limit being 1.0×10-6 mol· L-1. The cyclic voltammetric data show that SLS promotes adsorption of CBZ at the mercury electrode.
