STUDIES ON ANTIBILHARIAL DRUGS——Ⅱ.SYNTHESIS OF DERIVATIVES OF BENZOTHIAZOLE AND BENZIMIDAZOLE

2-Mercapto benzothiazole was dissolved in excess sodium hydroxide solution and condensed with β-diethylaminoethyl chloride and β-piperidinoethyl chloride hydrochloride respectively, the corresponding thioether was obtained. 2-Ethyl-1, 3-benzimidazole or 2-propyl-1, 3-benzimidazole was used to react with diethylaminoethyl chloride in toluene, with sodium amide as condensation agent, under nitrogen atmosphere. The corresponding substituted derivatives were obtained. These four compounds were tested for therapeutic effect on schistosomiasis japonica in mice. No prophylactic or curative effect were observed.
