THE TOXIC PRINCIPLE OF ILLICIUM HENRYI DIELS AND STRUCTURE OF 6-DEOXYPSEUDOANISATIN
-
Abstract
This paper reports that three sesquiterpenlactone compounds were isolated from the toxic fruits of Illicium henryi Diels gathered in Guizhou province of China. Two of them were identified as anisatin(Ⅰ) and pseudoanisatin (Ⅱ). The former exhibits high toxicity in mice, meaning that is the toxic principle of the title plant. The third is a new compound, the structure of which was elucidated as 6-deoxypseudoanisatin(Ⅲ) based on spectral evidences. The detailed physical and chemical data are presented in the paper.
