STUDIES ON THE MEDICINAL PLANTS OF CHINESE ZINGIBERACEAE——Ⅳ.The Structure of Stahlianthusone

A new sesquiterpene quinone, C₁₅H₁₆O₂, has been isolated from the essential oil of Chinese herbal drug JIANG SANQI Stahlianthus involucratus (King ex Bak.) Craib, and named stahlianthusone(Ia). On the basis of chemical reactions and spectroscopic data(UV, IR, MS and NMR), the structure of stahlianthusone was elucidated as 1,6-dimethyl-4-isoprppylnaphthoquinone-5,8 (cadalene quinone-5,8) (Ia).
