DETERMINATION OF HYDROCHLORIDES OF DRUGS BY MEANS OF LINEAR TITRAION METHOD——A NEW APPROACH TO REPLACE THE NON-AQUEOUS TITRATION

A linear titration method for determining hydrochlorides of drugs is presented, inorder to rePlace the traditional non-aqueous titration in pharmaceutical analysis. An equation is derived for the method and the titration data can be treated by a microcomputer such as Apple-Ⅱ. An optimization method combined with the multilinear regression analysis is employed to solve the problem and more satisfactory results are obtained. A linear titration carried out in ethanolwater medium is also introduced to overcome the difficulty on solubility of free organic bases. With Stability constants of their conjugate acids ranging from 10³ to 10¹⁰, most of the hydrochlorides can be titrated.
