Abstract
In the present paper the hemodynamic effects of the extract of Angelica sinensis in anesthetized dogs and its effect on blood pressure, heart rate in conscious hypertensive dogs were examined. After an intravenous injection of A. sinensis at a dosage of 2g/kg in anesthetized dogs, the coronary, cerebral and peripheral blood flow increased, the arterial blood pressure, vascular resistance, total peripheral resistance and myocardial oxygen consumption decreased. The cardiac output was slightly reduced. After intravenous administration of A. sinensis at the same dosage in conscious hypertensive dogs the blood pressure and heart rate were increased for several minutes and followed by a decrease.
