STUDIES ON ANTIBILHARZIAL DRUGS——SYNTHESIS OF SUBSTITUTED ARYLIDENE-BIS-CHLOROACETAMIDES

Twelve compounds of substituted arylidene-bis-chloroacetamides were prepared by condensation of substituted benzaldehydes with chloroacetamide in the presence of acetic anhydride. The results of the screening tests showed that the compounds I, V, VI, and IX possessed chemoprophylatic activity against schistosomiasis japonica in mice.
