SOME COMPOUNDS WITH 1-ADAMANTYL IN PLACE OF ISOPROPYL IN β-ADRENERGIC BLOCKING AGENTS

Six compounds with 1-adamantyl in place of isopropyl in β-adrenergic blocking agents were prepared. None of them showed antiarrythmic activity in rats.Reaction of sodium salts of bis (2-hydroxy-3,5,6-trichlorophenyl) methane and bis (2-hydroxy-3,5,6-trichlorophenyl) sulfide with 1-chloro-2,3-epoxypropane resulted in the products of new ring systems, i.e. 1,2,4,10,12,13-hexachlorodibenzo f,i-2H, 3 H,4 H-1,5,-dioxecin-7-ol (Ⅺ) and 1,2,4,10,12,13-hexachlorodibenzo b,e-8 H, 9H, 10 H-1,7,4-dioxathiecin-7-ol (Ⅻ) respectively.
