CHEMICAL STUDIES OF EPIMEDIUM WUSHANENSE T. S. YING

Two flavonoids were isolated from the aerial parts of Epimedium wushanense T. S. Ying. The structures of the flavonoids were identified by means of physical and chemical properties and spectral data. Flavonoid Ⅰ is a novel one, named temporarily Wushanicariin (3′, 5′, 7-trihydroxy-4′-methoxy-6-(3,3-dimethylallyl)-flavone-7-β-D-glucopyranoside). Flavonoid Ⅱ was confirmed as the known Icariin which was first isolated from the species. The total contents of flavone and the contents of Icariin and Wushanicariin were determined.
