SYNTHESIS OF 4-PYRIDINE-ACRYLIC ACID DERIVATIVES

In order to find chemotherapeutic agents against schistosomiasis Japonica, we substituted 4-pyridine ring for the 5-nitrofuran ring of to synthesize some 4-pyridine-acrylic acid derivatives, such as esters, hydrazides and amides of aliphalic and aromatic amines.According to animal tests, esters and aliphatic amides showed no activity for schistosomiasis Japonica. Three aromatic amides and one hydrazide exhibited very low therapeutic activity.
