ISOLATION AND IDENTIFICATION OF ALKALOIDS FROM FRITILLARIA NINGGUOENSIS S.C.CHEN ET S. F. YIN

Ning-Guo Bei Mu, a new substitute for the traditional Chinese medicine Bei Mu (Fritillaria verticillata Willd), has been used for antibechie and expectorant. From Ning-Guo Bei Mu (the bulbs of Fritillaria ningguoensis S. C. Chen et S. F. Yin)five alkaloids including a new veratranine alkaloid were isolated. By spectral analysis (IR, MS, ¹HNMR ¹³CNMR) and preparation of derivative the structure of this new alkaloid (Ⅴ) was elucidated as N-methyl-3β-hydroxy-5α-veratranine-6-one, named Ningpeisine. The known alkaloids were identified as verticine, verticinone, isoverticine and peimisine.
