STUDIES ON DRUGS USED FOR THE TREATMENT OF HYPERLIPOPROTEINEMIA: SYNTHESIS OF NEW ARYLOXYISOBUTYRIC ACID DERIVATIVES

In order to search for effective hypolipidemic drugs, twenty-two aryloxyisobutyric acid derivatives were prepared. Results of animal screening tests of four of those compounds (1, 12, 16, 18) showed that ethyl 2,5-dimethylphenoxyisobutyrate (16) is more effective and less toxic than Clofibrate.
