STUDIES ON FACTORS AFFECTING THE DISINTEGRATION OF COMPOUND TABLET OF AMINOPYRINE AND PHENACETIN

  • The factors affecting the disintegration of compound tablet, of aminopyrine and phenaeetin and its mechanism were investigated. The tensile trength and disintegrating time of the tablet were shown to be directly related to the logarithm of the compression force and compression force respectively. As the strength of the granules was not strong enough, it was broken down into smaller units on Compression, the contact angle and the disintegrating time of the tablet did not affect significantly by magnesium stearate (lubrecant)and if the concentration of the binder solution or the duration of mixing in granulation increased, then the effect of the lubricant on disintegrating time was increased significantly. The melting point of the mixture of aminopyrine and phenacetin (1:1) was decreased to 73℃, more "solid bridges" were formed in tabletting when melting occured and the disintegrating time was increased.
