ANALYSIS OF SPECTRAL’DATA FOR ¹³CNM R0F SIXTEEN STRYCHN0S ALKALOIDS

In the course of our studies on the drug-processing of the seeds of Strychnos nux-vomica L,sixteen alkaloids were isolated and identified from the heat treated and untreated seeds of S. nux-vomica. Isobrucine ,isobrucine-N-oxide ,isostrychnine-N- oxide and 2- hydroxy-3-methoxystrychnine were new alkaloids. The ¹HNMR,¹³CNMR,MS ,IR and UV spectra were performed forall of the com pounds.Applicaltion of ¹³CNMR to structure deter mination of strychnos alkaloidsshowed high sensitivity, selectivity and time efficiency.The ¹³CNMR spectra of these compoundsshowed some regularities.
