SYNTHESIS OF 3H-1,2-DIHYDRO-1-PYRROLIZINONE DERIVATIVES

    Abstract
  • 3H-1,2-Dihydro-1-pyrrolizinone was found to have significant anti-inflammatory and analgesic action. Five of the derivatives of the pyrrolizinone synthesized in our laboratory had not been reported in the literature. 2-Cyano-3H-1,2-dihydro-1-pyrrolizinone was prepared via Dieckmann condensation and underwent ring-opening on hydrolysis, converting to a pyrrole-dicarboxylic acid.
