STUDIES ON THE ACTIVE INGREDIENT OF CURCUMA AROMATICA SALISB AND ITS EFFECTS

The structure of the crystalline compound——an active antiarrhythmic ingredient, isolated from the aqueous extract of Curcuma aromatica Salisb, was established as dipotassium magnesium dioxalate dihydrate by spot test, chemical analysis, atomic emission and absorption spectrometry. A Procedure for the preparation of the above mentioned compound was proposed.The compound prepared by the proposed method was further-confirmed by infrared spectrophotometry and by all the above experiments to have the same structure as that of the crystalline compound isolated from Cufcuma aromatica Salisb.
