THE STRUCTURE AND ABSOLUTE CONFIGURATION OF VERTALINE B ISOLATED FROM VERATRUM TALIENSE LOSE. F.

    Abstract
  • Three steroidal alkaloids were isolated from the total plant of Veratrum taliense Lose. f. collected in Yunnan province, China. By means of MS, 1HNMR, 13CNMR and physical constants, the study proved Ⅱ to be jervine, Ⅲ to be stenophylline B and established the structure of a new alkaloid——vertaline B(Ⅰ). The absolute configuration of Ⅰ was determined by X-ray as (20R, 22R, 25S) 22,26-epiminocholest-5-ene-3β-16β, 20β, -triol.
