STUDIES ON THE PORPHYRIN PHOTOSENSITIVE DRUG——YHPD

A porphyrin photosensitive drug——YHPD was prepared by using the protoporphyrin as it's starting material. It appeared as a single dark purple band on a Bio-Gel P-10 column, indicating it's aggregate nature. HPLC analysis showed the presence of hematoporphyrin and a small amount of 3(8)-(1-hydroxyethyl)-8(3)-vinyldeuteroporphyrin and protoporphyrin. A peak corresponding to the dihematoporphyrin ether (DHE) accounted for about 26%.The separation of it's methyl ester derivatives afforded ten components. Seven of them were characterized as hematoporphyrin dimethyl ester, 3(8)-(1-hydroxyethyl)-8 (3)-(1-methoxyethyl)-deuteroporphyrin dimethyl ester, 3(8)-(1-methoxyethyl)-8(3)-(1-hydroxyethyl)-deuteroporphyrin dimethyl ester, hematoporphyrin dimethyl ester dimethyl ether, 3-(1-hydroxyethyl)-8-vinyldeuteroporphyrin dimethyl ester, 3-vinyl-8-(1-hydroxyethyl)-deuteroporphyrin dimethyl ester and protoporphyrin dimethyl ester.
