NEW TRITERPENOIDS FROM PURARIA PEDUNCULARIS
-
Abstract
AIM To study the chemical constituents of the roots of Pueraria peduncularis (Grah. ex Benth.) Benth.. METHODS Compounds were isolated by using various kinds chromatography. Their structures were identified on the basis of spectral analysis. RESULTS The structures of three pentacyclic triterpenoids were elucidated as 3-O-[β-D-glucopyranosyl(1→3)-O-β-D-glucuronopyranosyl]-15α-hydroxy-olean-12-en-16-one (1), 3β,15α-dihydroxy-olean-12-en-16-one (2) and 3β,16β-dihydroxy-olean-12-en-15-one (3). CONCLUSION Compounds 1 and 3 were shown to be new compounds, 1 was named peduncularisaponin A, 3 was named peduncularisadiol, 2 was isolated for the first time from the root of this plant.
